I work full time as an IFMGA/UIAGM internationally licensed mountain & ski guide as well as the owner/director of the world-wide mountain guiding service International Alpine Guides. After years of guiding and climbing in some of the most amazing mountain landscapes on the planet without a camera in hand, I made the obvious decision to give an honest attempt to get serious about photography. This website is the result of my modest efforts.
I grew up in three completely different places...the beaches of Southern California, the city streets of London, England and finally the mountains of the Sierra Nevada around Lake Tahoe. The mountains have been in my blood since my first backpacking trip in Yosemite's Tuolumne Meadows when I was seven years old and learning to ski in the Swiss and Austrian Alps at the age of eight. Currently I live in California's Eastern Sierra only minutes from where it all began back with that family Yosemite backpacking trip in 1972.
I spend half of my time mountain guiding in the mountains of California and half at various locales around the world, especially the Alps of Europe. My guests are the biggest beneficiaries of my photography efforts as I strive to document as much of their trips as possible.
